The Cincinnati Bengals scored 35 straight points after halftime to beat the Baltimore Ravens 35-13 on Sunday at M&T Bank Stadium. Baltimore had led 13-0 at the break. Joe Burrow threw all four of his touchdown passes in the second half.
Burrow finished 22 of 30 for 292 yards. In the first half he completed 6 of 12 passes for 43 yards. The Ravens held the ball for 22 minutes, 20 seconds before halftime, against 7:40 for Cincinnati, and converted 8 of 11 third downs. After that, Baltimore converted 1 of its last 10.
Cincinnati scored on each of its first five possessions of the second half. Burrow's 6-yard pass to tight end Mike Gesicki and a 13-yard pass to Tee Higgins in the third quarter put the Bengals ahead 14-13. Samaje Perine ran in from 1 yard out, and Burrow found Ja'Marr Chase for a 2-yard score. After the Bengals intercepted Ravens quarterback Tyler Huntley, Burrow threw a 16-yard touchdown pass to tight end Drew Sample.
Higgins caught six passes for 148 yards. Chase had five catches for 62 yards.
Huntley started for a third straight game in place of Lamar Jackson, who has missed three games with an ankle injury. Zay Flowers caught Baltimore's only touchdown pass. Derrick Henry ran 17 times for 45 yards. The teams finished almost even in total yards, 359 for the Ravens and 358 for the Bengals, but Baltimore failed to score a touchdown on any of its three trips inside the red zone. The Ravens were also penalized 10 times for 57 yards.
On defense, Baltimore's Mike Green had a sack, but the Ravens forced no turnovers. Cincinnati became the 10th team in NFL history to be shut out in the first half and then score at least 35 points in the second half of the same game.
Injuries hit both teams. Ravens rookie right guard Vega Ioane was ruled out with a knee injury, and linebacker Roquan Smith left early in the fourth quarter with a knee issue. The Bengals ruled out safety Kyle Dugger (quadriceps) and tight end Erick All Jr. (knee).
Cincinnati is now 4-2 and hosts the Tennessee Titans next weekend. Baltimore fell to 4-3 and to 0-2 in AFC North games, its first 0-2 start in the division since 2007. The Ravens play the Buffalo Bills on the road in Week 8.
