Savannah Chrisley, the former "Chrisley Knows Best" cast member, married Jason Galanis on July 14 at the Cayman Islands Baptist Church, according to marriage records obtained by People. She disclosed the marriage on Tuesday on her podcast, "Unlocked with Savannah Chrisley," where she also announced that she is engaged and expecting a baby. The wedding had taken place about three months earlier.
Chrisley is 29 and Galanis is 56. She said they kept the marriage private because of the age gap and fear of public scrutiny. Photos of her wearing a diamond wedding band, posted online by a jeweler and professional photographers, had already fueled speculation. She calls Galanis her "best friend" and the "love of my life," and says he "does not look his age, nor does he act his age."
The couple began dating in July 2025, after Galanis contacted Chrisley following the pardons of her parents, Todd and Julie Chrisley, whom President Donald Trump pardoned on tax evasion and bank fraud convictions. They kept his identity private until the October announcement. Galanis proposed that December on a beach in the Cayman Islands, after about five months together, with an oval-cut diamond ring he designed with Genovese Jewelers in St. Louis. TMZ reported that Chrisley bought a Nashville-area home for $2.225 million on February 13, and the couple lives there now. A larger celebration planned for January 9, 2027, has been moved to May 2027 because of the pregnancy.
On the "Whine Down" podcast, Chrisley said the two met through the "political world of D.C." and described Galanis as a "financial guy" who supports her career.
Galanis's record drew much of the criticism that followed. He was sentenced in September 2020 to 189 months in federal prison for fraud, in a case reports describe as defrauding a Native American tribe and investors. He served time at the Federal Prison Camp in Pensacola, Florida, until Trump commuted his sentence in March 2025. He is a former business associate of Hunter Biden, and Forbes identified him in 2004 as the largest US processor of payments for internet pornography.
Chrisley defended the relationship on "Unlocked," saying she "genuinely do not care" about the backlash. On Saturday she responded on her Instagram Story. "What a whirlwind this week has been...," she wrote. "This world can be so incredibly cruel. People can be quick to judge, quick to condemn, and slow to show grace." She followed with John 1:5: "The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it."
Todd Chrisley addressed the relationship on the "Two Sons and Me" podcast, in comments reported Friday. He said he first opposed the romance and then had a change of heart. The news of his daughter's pregnancy and relationship "arrived differently" than he expected, he said, but he "vehemently supports" her. He called Galanis "brilliant" and said he "built his life from the ground up," adding that Savannah "doesn't have to worry about anything financially, emotionally, spiritually." Reports differ on whether he confirmed the marriage itself. People reported that on Thursday he declined to confirm the couple's marital status on Bunnie Xo's "Dumb Blonde" podcast.
Todd Chrisley's mother, Nanny Faye Chrisley, said she is "certainly" okay with the age difference.
