Andrew Shue, the 59-year-old actor and philanthropist, married attorney Marilee Fiebig, 49, on Sunday at a country estate near Stockton, New Jersey. Reports describe the ceremony as intimate and low-key. The property is variously called a 92-acre estate, a riverside property and a farm. Accounts of the day rest on photos published by tabloids and on a magazine report.
Fiebig wore a white lace gown with a veil. Shue wore a dark suit and, by one account, a button-down shirt without a tie. Fiebig's 13-year-old daughter, Sabine, whose father is T.J. Holmes, was photographed at the wedding, and one report says she walked alongside her mother. Shue's sister, the actor Elisabeth Shue, 63, was among the guests.
The couple announced their engagement on October 21 in a magazine interview, 11 days before the wedding. "We're very grateful and hopeful," Shue said then. He described their bond as something that "just happened to be our way of getting to know each other and being able to share ourselves with each other in a time where we both needed a friend." He also spoke of people who "grow through a lot of pain and a lot of struggle and a lot of humility." Outlets disagree on the timeline. One says the two got engaged in the spring after three years together, while others place the start of the relationship in 2023 or about four years ago.
The marriage follows a public history between the two families. Shue was married for 13 years to Amy Robach, and Fiebig for 12 years to Holmes. Robach and Holmes were co-anchors of the ABC program GMA3 when they were photographed holding hands in November 2022, each still married to their spouse. ABC News removed them from the show the following month, and Holmes filed for divorce in December 2022. Robach had separated from Shue in the summer of 2022, and her divorce was finalized in March 2023. In a podcast episode in December 2023, Robach and Holmes said they were already in divorce proceedings when their relationship became public. In January 2023, Fiebig's attorney, Stephanie Lehman, said Fiebig's sole focus was her daughter.
Robach and Holmes married on September 19 in a private ceremony in Washington County, Arkansas, about six weeks before the Shue-Fiebig wedding. They applied for their license a day earlier. A source told an entertainment outlet that Robach is "seriously in love" and has "no regrets."
Shue was married to Jennifer Hageney before Robach. He has three sons with Hageney: Nate, Aidan and Wyatt.
