Nibbles, our Mascot.

Newsnibs

  • News nibbles from around the world.
  • Founded: September, 2023.

Effective October 27, 2026

Newsnibs has no accounts, no sign-ups and no paywall. You can read every story without telling us who you are. This page lists what does get collected when you visit, and by whom.

What we collect

Almost nothing directly. If you email us, we keep your message and address so we can reply. That's the only personal information we hold on purpose.

Visit data. Like most sites, ours records standard technical details when a page loads: your IP address, browser type, the page you asked for and when. This comes from our hosting provider and our analytics, described below.

One setting in your browser. If you switch between light and dark mode, your browser remembers the choice. It stays on your device and is never sent to us.

Services that load on our pages

  • Cloudflare hosts and delivers the site. It processes request data, including IP addresses, to serve pages and block attacks. Cloudflare's privacy policy.
  • Google Analytics tells us which stories people read and roughly where readers come from. It uses cookies. You can opt out with Google's opt-out add-on.
  • Google AdSense serves ads. Google and its partners may use cookies to show ads based on your visits to this and other sites. You can turn off personalized ads in Google's ad settings or at aboutads.info. See how Google uses data from sites that show its ads.
  • Disqus runs the comment section under stories. If you comment, Disqus handles your account and comment under its own privacy policy.
  • Unsplash supplies many of our photos, and your browser loads them from Unsplash's servers.

Search

The search box runs entirely in your browser. What you type is not sent to us or anyone else.

What we don't do

We don't sell personal information. We don't build reader profiles. We don't send newsletters you didn't ask for, because we don't send newsletters at all.

Your choices

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings and still read the whole site. If you've emailed us and want that correspondence deleted, or want to know what we hold about you, write to hello@newsnibs.org and we'll take care of it. Residents of California, the EU and the UK have specific rights to access and delete personal data; the same address handles those requests.

Children

Newsnibs is a general news site and isn't directed at children under 13. We don't knowingly collect information from them.

Changes

If this policy changes, we'll update it here and change the date at the top.
