British travellers flying to Australia have new stopover options, including visa-free entry to Chengdu, China, starting this year. The city offers flight connections to Sydney and Melbourne.
For travellers stopping in Chengdu, a metro ride from the airport to the city centre takes 50 minutes and costs £1. Those choosing to stop in Istanbul, Turkey, can save £91 or more in taxes if they remain in the city for at least 48 hours. Other stopover points include Helsinki, a Baltic port.
EgyptAir is scheduled to launch a Cairo-to-Sydney connection from London Heathrow and Manchester in the first half of 2027. The airline will utilize the Airbus A350 for this route. Currently, no direct flights serve the route between Cairo and Sydney.
Mauritius offers another route option for travellers heading to Perth. Flights from Mauritius to Perth depart in the late morning and take less than seven hours. Visitors stopping in the capital, Port Louis, can visit a market and a Natural History Museum, or travel to Eureka House, which is located in Mauritius.
